"And I would hope that the president would ultimately see that the decision to close Guantanamo Bay was ill-informed and shortsighted, and that, in fact, he looks at it in the larger context of our nation's engagement against the war on terror and makes the mature decision as the Commander in Chief and President to keep that place open."  Lippold says the terrorist detainees should be tried by the Military Commissions process at the Gitmo facility in which the U S has already invested...
...that the President could notify Congress of his controversial plan to shutter the facility - and begin moving detainees out in a matter of weeks. "In the coming weeks, we do anticipate that we'll reach resolution on these issues" a White House official says, speaking on condition of anonymity...
