Modest increase in farm profits last year

AVERAGE farm business income for all farm types was slightly higher in 2008/09 compared to the previous year.

Results from Defra’s Farm Business Survey show an average figure of £50,900 for the year ending February. This compares with £48,200 in 2007/08.
