Not all fraud is cybercrime, but many cybercrimes involve fraudulent activities.
While fraud and cybercrime are related concepts, they are not identical. Understanding the differences can help organisations develop more targeted strategies to prevent and respond to these threats. Fraud prevention depends on effective intelligence gathering, yet few firms have the tools or personnel to collect and analyse at scale.
In this talk, Kevin Libby, Lead Intelligence Solution Architect at Silobreaker, will use examples gathered from OSINT and discuss typical tactics, techniques, and procedures cybercriminals use to perpetrate fraud. Additionally, a light will be shined on industries that are most vulnerable to cyber fraud and what types they are experiencing.
Finally, we’ll provide some key areas businesses and organisations should consider monitoring to identify potential cyber threats and fraudulent activities.
