Senior Frontend Developer

Silobreaker helps security, business and intelligence professionals make sense of the overwhelming amount of data on the web.

Our engineering team is now looking for experienced Frontend Developers that can take our product to the next level – developing new features and visualisations for Silobreaker’s award-winning intelligence application. You will participate in planning and architecting a state-of-the art online user interface that is used 24/7 by numerous Fortune100/FTSE100 sized customers.

You will also have the opportunity to develop other skills, like backend, API development and DevOps – all depending on your own drive and focus.

Our wish list…

  • 4+ years of experience.
  • M.Sc / Civilingenjör or similar academic background. Self-taught is fine is you have relevant experience to show.
  • Great coding skills – you know your frameworks, but you also know how to code well.
  • Worked with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.js or similar. Angular is our frontend framework, and is what you will use at Silobreaker.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML5, CSS, LESS/SASS, ES6/modern JavaScript. TypeScript is a bonus.
  • Have good sense for and opinions about good UI/UX design
  • An understanding of design patterns and best practices for frontend development – such as reactive programming, Observables, REST, GraphQL
  • A high standard of written and verbal English, as Silobreaker works in an international environment and both internal and external communication is in English

Language skills

  • Our frontend stack uses TypeScript, so experience with TS is a plus.
  • JavaScript (obviously)
  • We otherwise work mainly in C#, but also do Java, Python, Node.js, Typescript. We try to use the best tool for each job.
  • In general, we value brains and understanding of “computing” higher than specific language or framework skills, but for you as frontend developer significant experience with at least one frontend framework is a must.

Bonus features

  • Worked with search and visualisation of business-critical information in real time
  • Can take a UI design and make a pixel perfect implementation
  • Experience in other programming languages, like C#, Java or Python

Our team is highly skilled and experienced. All engineers at Silobreaker work closely with the product and have a big influence on its design. Everyone has great flexibility and very good opportunities to grow both architecture and development skills.

We’re an agile company, and pair/mob programming, unit testing, demos and retrospectives are all part of the work – helping both you and the team to evolve together and build software that works with as little technical debt as possible. You also will have frequent one-on-one meetings with your manager to help with your personal development and future with the company.
